Contemporary Sandy Springs Home Flaunts 2022's Biggest Trends – What Now Atlanta

As the demographics of the housing market continue to shift as Millennials come into their peak homebuying stage, home aesthetics and architecture will follow suit. Homebuyers are ready to cleanse their aesthetic pallet of the predictable suburban landscapes overflowing with indistinguishable, cookie-cutter homes, and are now opting for diversification in their home searches instead.
With this, homebuilders and interior designers in the U.S. are beginning to embrace innovation and creativity to vary streetscapes and interior design within new neighborhoods. Recently interviewed by National Association of REALTORS®, The Plan Collection (an online home design firm), shares their forecast for architecture in 2022:
“Curves counter the ‘straight-line syndrome’…expect to see more arched openings, barrel-vault ceilings, and curvy furniture, The Plan Collection team predicts. Also, you may spot more arched windows and doors as well as curved ceilings for porches or decks and curved walkways.”
To support this shift in design, another recent article by Elise Taylor for Vogue captures the predictions of 14 top interiors designers for 2022:
“…several predict the rise of the enveloping, earthy color of brown, displayed in fabrics like leather or even in terracotta walls… Others see a spike in nature-inspired surfaces and accents—think marbles and mushroom shapes—while others say their clients can’t get enough soft, curvy furniture.”

New on the market in the gated community of Bentwater, a 16-home subdivision situated in the Sandy Springs neighborhood of Grogan’s Bluff, lives a custom-built contemporary home that is the epitome of these on-the-rise trends. This recently renovated, 5-bedroom estate enjoys complete privacy on its serene 1.5 acres of land, nestled between both a wooded front and backyard (yet another trend we are seeing in the market as homebuyers are placing more value on integrating nature and home). Anchored by the grand, circular, two-story foyer, the interior’s blend of open concept living and distinguished, functional space is accentuated by flowing curvature, high ceilings, intricate windows, and plenty of natural light.

The spacious chef’s kitchen boasts Subzero and Wolf appliances, with sleek designer granite countertops and modern finishes throughout. Perfect for entertaining, the luxurious living room invites the outdoors in with its floor-to-ceiling windows and stately French doors which lead to the extensive back deck and wooded backyard.
The real draw of this contemporary home is the incredibly unique architecture, the result of a collaboration from Atlanta architect Saeid Sadri and builder Paul Kamelhair. Diverging from the sharp, straight lines and monochrome color palettes of most modern architecture, this Sandy Springs home embodies the quiet boldness of soft contemporary design. Distinctions such as the comforting curves of the circular grand foyer and natural color palettes with warm, earthy undertones provide a soothing sense of solace. From its curved walls to its dramatic, vaulted ceilings, not a single detail was overlooked in designing this elegant contemporary home.
Listed through Pam Santiago with Harry Norman, REALTORS®, the property is located at 43 Wing Mill Road, Sandy Springs, GA 30350.
