Tara Drennen, Angie Perez and Jennifer Jones with the Jones Group took part in the 2019 De Soto Home Show.
The 25th annual De Soto Home Show is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at De Soto High School, 815 Amvets Drive.
Admission and parking are free, and all ages are welcome to the event, which is sponsored by the De Soto Chamber of Commerce and Leader Publications.
Representatives from businesses offering a wide variety of home products and services will be on hand to display and demonstrate their wares. Many will offer giveaways, discounts or drawings during the show, and some also will have items for sale.
Already nearly 40 vendors have signed up for spots inside the school’s gymnasium on two levels and in outdoor spaces.
The event was canceled outright in 2020 and was held last year in a different venue.
“We’re excited to be back in full force for 2022,” Leader associate advertising manager Glenda Potts said. “This show is a great resource for people looking to work on their homes and yards. There are all kinds of new products and services, and people are excited to get out and explore that.”
The chamber will sell coffee and doughnuts in the morning in the front foyer, and the food truck Concessionaire Extraordinaire will be on hand beginning at 9 a.m., offering lunch and snack options throughout the day.
Expect some yummy smells, too, because a kettle corn vendor is among those signed up for the show.
Attendees are encouraged to stop by the chamber’s booth for a courtesy bag. Smart visitors will bring along pre-printed address labels, making it quick and easy to enter giveaways and sign up for information.
The event will include what organizers call a “huge” silent auction.
“We will have a lot of different things, hair products, tanning products, home decor items, wine and cheese baskets, automobile stuff, a kids’ water table, tools – just kind of your normal silent auction baskets, but just a lot of them,” chamber vice president Shalby Logsden said.
Proceeds will help fund chamber activities and support other local community events.
A special De Soto Home Show section will be published in the March 31 issue of the paper, with more detailed information about the activities slated for the day.
Vendors interested in participating in the show still have time to reserve a space, but waiting too long is not advised. Contact the De Soto chamber office at 636-586-5591 or email For information about the show, call the Leader at 636-931-7560.
